Located just 15 minutes from downtown Port Angeles on the northern Olympic Peninsula, this campground is set among a beautiful old-growth forest where trees can tower up to 300 feet tall. The campground offers an amazing sense of solitude and feeling like you’re in the middle of nature, making it an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travelers.
We were lucky enough to grab a site here at the end of our recent trip to Olympic National Park and a flat one for our camper van! We woke the next morning to the sound of so many birds that it was impossible to name them all. The picnic table provided at our site, combined with the position of our camper van, made it feel like our own private forest! Even though it was a Friday at almost 9 pm on a gorgeous weather weekend here in Western Washington and on the Olympic Peninsula, there were still quite a few sites to choose from despite Loop B being out of commission (we’re still unsure why).
